COAL BENEFICIATION PLANTS:

Government of India’s policy of encouraging setting up of coal Washeries for consumption of coal with less then 34% ash by State Electricity Boards, Public Sector Electricity Producing units and other core sector has thrown ample opportunities for business of coal Washery. The company signed an agreement with M/s. Indo Unique Flames Limited as a sole marketing partner for sale of washed coal. Under this arrangement, presently washed coal is supplied to thermal power stations of Maharashtra State Electricity Board. Its vast experience in marketing and Liaisoning of coal is responsible for supply of washed coal to MSEB as per the specification and parameters laid down by them. Recently the company has signed a joint venture Agreement with M/s. R&S Engineering (India) Private Limited, Hyderabad (a venture company of Robert & Schaefer Company, USA, a 100 year old company with expertise in Washeries, Material handling plants etc.) for setting up a Coal Washery at Dipka Mines of South Eastern Coalfields Limited, at Chattisgarh, for supply of washed coal to Maharashtra state Electricity Board’s Thermal power Station. M/s. Nair Coal Services Limited has a 50% Stake in the Project.

The company is setting up a 1.25 MMT capacity cal Washery at Mandamari, District Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh which will be ready for supply of washed coal within a few months.

MINING DIVISION :

The company has diversified in to Mining and has applied for Expression of Interest Notified by WCL for out-sourcing of complete production in open cast mines. The Company has joint ventures with others companies whose core competence and Experience cover, mining coal and overburden removal in open cast mines and construction of highways. Its mining Division has a team of experienced Sr. Mining Engineers who have direct Extensive and long-time experience in the entire spectrum of mining operations. The mining team is well equipped with specialised skills in planning, Design, Construction and operation of all types & sizes of under Ground and open cast Mines. The mining Division has access to the expertise of Ex-CGMs of coal India Ltd. and Washery experts of national repute, having 35 years of enriched vast experienced in Techno Economic aspects of Mining and Washery including Sales and Marketing of Coal.

COAL QUALITY ASSURANCE – A STEP FORWARD

Considering the need of the hour, the requirement of the society and the nation at large regarding quality of coal, Nair Coal Services Ltd. diversified in the field for inspection, Sampling and Analysis of Coal sample. After introduction of 3^rd party sampling and considering the importance of quality assurance in Coal supply, NCSL joined hands with Mitra S.K. Coal Inspection Pvt. Ltd. a reputed and accredited sampling and Testing Agency and formed a joint Coal Sampling Division under an MOU signed during 1995. This division is now jointly operated by Mitras and Nairsons. They have been entrusted with Third Party sampling analysis of coal samples for Western Coalfields Ltd., Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. & Singreni Coalfield Ltd. on behalf of MSEB and coal companies.

Inspection, Sampling, testing and analysis of coal to international standard and analysis results are to be provided to the producing company and consumer company, presently 3^rd party sampling with MSEB for WCL, SECL, SCCL, & MCL is being undertaken by Mitra S.k. Coal Inspection Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture with Nair Coal Services Ltd. The following quantities have so far been sampled and analysed for WCL, SCCL, and SECL :

We shoulder all responsibilities involved in the activities of moving coal from the concerned Collieries including pit head, rail head and port to different destinations

We maintain excellent liasion with the authorities at different levels of 
(a) Coal India Limited
(b) All its subsidiary companies
(c) Indian Railways for all purposes like getting allotment and placement of coal wagons EDRM sanction,
     Submission of Programmes against the monthly linkage by rail, swift movement of coal wagons etc.
(d) The offices of our customers including headquarters of Maharashtra State Electricity Board, Mumbai &
(e) The Energy Ministry of State Goverment and the Coal department of Government of India.

We render effective supervision at the loading and unloading points.Point to point monitoring of rake movement is undertaken. Our experienced representatives at various collieries/loading points ensure proper loading of wagons so that our clients receive quality coal in adequate quantity.

We collect all Railway Receipts and forward the same along with wagon statement details to our customers.We promptly furnish them actual despatch details like wagon numbers, Engine number etc.

We undertake pre-paid RR system (Under Credit Note/freight DD method) so that our customers can save 15% surcharge.

We also work out well in advance all the logistics involved as regards rail movement, loading and unloading etc.
